We are waiting for the Orange Regime to Arrive

We are waiting for the Red Hats to pick up arms

to kill us in our sleep

to shoot us in our schools

to send us elsewhere

Within my family, there exists a handful of people who were not born in the United States. They are citizens, however. They’ve put in the work and have become quite successful by pretty much any measure. Yet, despite this, despite their acceptance of Western ideals and adherences to Western beliefs, they are likely targets.

These are individuals who saw rather awful conditions in their home country. A few came here to escape political violence. Yet, they are likely targets because of the type of work they’ve gone into. None have chosen selfish careers. Even those which earn quite a bit of yearly income are based in one form of humanistic career or another.

Their work is often in public health, education, and technology.

Their work is targeted.

The very notion of public health has come under attack long prior to the COVID pandemic, but has only gotten even more extreme and more popular due to folks like RFK Jr., a former heroin user-turned-steroid-abuser. The Department of Education financially no longer exists and will soon find a spot next to the corpse of USAID.

As for technology . . .

Never forget that idiots run the world. Chasing the AI dream is the new religion. Creating God, only to sell it to you as a cell phone upgrade. AI is trash. Those in the tech industry know that no matter how much money you funnel into it, AI will never amount to a damned thing. They will look upon the hypothetical pyramid of AI in the desert of our society in hundreds of years and gawk at the lunacy.

And so we wait.

For ICE to come and knock

to take away our loved ones.

It makes me wonder, how many of their neighbors will pick up arms to defend them as they are dragged into the vans?
